• Promote our members' businesses by enhancing consumer awareness and demand for spa services and products through public relations efforts, The Day Spa Directory and the Internet.

• To protect consumers by establishing a standard of excellence to assure the continuous elevation of professionalism and quality driven services in the day spa industry.

About the author:

Sharon Parris-Chambers is the President of Positive Tourism Limited, the founder and producer of Caribbean Health Tourism and Spa Symposium, an annual panel and expo forum exploring alternative health & spa tourism topics relevant to the health & spa tourism professional and student. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Positive Tourism News, the Company's online News Journal published weekdays on www.positivetourism.com.

 

Mrs. Chambers is the Co-founder and Executive Director of the International Medical Spa Association and Resort Day Spa Association, Caribbean Chapters, headquartered in Jamaica.

 

Positive Tourism Limited supports values education in Jamaica through the work of Mrs. Chambers as the National Coordinator of Living Values Education Programme. Living Values Education Programme is coordinated by the Association for Living Values Education International, a non-profit association of educators from around the world. It is supported by UNESCO, sponsored by a wide variety of organizations, institutions and individuals, and being implemented in all continents of the world. LVEP is part of the global movement for a culture of peace in the framework of the United Nations Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World.
